"Physical or Sedentary?" - English 11

I, personally, am more of a sedentary person than physical.
I prefer staying home, reading a book over shopping, lying down in the sun over going for walks, watching TV over exercising, etc.
I am not necessarily saying that it is a good way of living, because of course, I would never recommend my way of life to anybody who wants to be healthy.
As far as I remember, I am quite sure I have always preferred being sedentary ever since I was little.
Being active is the way to go, it gives you more opportunities to meet new people, stay healthy, in shape, etc. However, I believe that being sedentary is necessary for everyone as well. By being more of a relaxed person than always active, you learn to be more laid back. You learn to focus on something for a long time as you would spend a whole day at home reading a book. If your hobby is to play instruments, write, read, or anything that involves staying put, I would say that a sedentary person would have a better chance at accomplishing their goals at their hobbies than an active person.
For example, sadly, I wasn't very active during the summer since I had just moved to Vancouver from North Van, and I couldn't just bus to NV everyday. Even though summer is really the time for people to go out, be active and enjoy the sun, I was able to watch many movies that I haven't gotten the chance to watch before, read several books, and learn a new instrument- ukulele. I wouldn't exactly define my summer as "successful" on the scale of being active, but I believe I scored at least 6 on the scale of productivity.
Today, with the advanced and convenient technology and such, people are becoming more sedentary. Even though I am quite an inactive person myself, I recommend everyone to acquire a little bit of both sides. Learn to appreciate the sun by going for walks, malls by going shopping for 4 hours, etc., but also learn how to enjoy yourself at home as well.
